6. They needed Chinese funding though
The total cost of the tower was about 3 billion US dollars. One of the interesting facts about Central Park Tower is that in order to obtain another construction loan which was badly needed for the success of the project, Extell attracted Chinese investment, and the joint venture was formed with Shanghai Municipal Investment Group, a very experienced Chinese real estate investment company, owns huge stakes in many subsidiaries.
7. The lead engineer is experienced in high-rise buildings
In December 2012, Extell announced that the principal architect of the building would be Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, a Chicago-based design and architecture firm that had commissioned the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere (Willis Tower in Chicago), and lead the construction of what will become the tallest building in the world, (Jeddah Tower), meaning that Nordstrom is in good hands.
8. The start of construction and the announcement of a new scheme
Excavation of the building's 80-foot (24 m) foundation began in May 2014, and nearly a year after excavation began, construction of the tower finally began. One of the most remarkable facts about Central Park Tower is that no new designs have been revealed. Long after this on April 20, 2015, which spelled out a ceiling height of 1,530 feet (470 m) and an architectural height of 1,775 feet (541 m) with the tower.
9. The first apartments were put up for sale in 2018
